Jesus is: our Advocate
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 1 John 2:1
An advocate is someone who fights for someone or something. Jesus loves us with an eternal love and died in our place, winning the battle over sin for us. He still is our Advocate, interceding for us at the throne of God. God’s own Son – one with Him – interceding specifically for you and me…. isn’t that a wonderful and comforting thing to think about!
Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:25
Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Romans 8:33-34
I am: more than a conqueror
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?… Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Romans 8:35&37
