Homemade gift baskets are a wonderful way to give a gift since they are made by you and show the recipient that you took the time to put thought and care into the gift. They can be as simple and cost-effective or as elaborate as you would like! That makes them an appropriate gift for occasions as big as a wedding or as small as to cheer up someone who might be having a hard day. Gift baskets are kind of a tradition in my family and my sister and I like to make them for birthdays, Christmas and Mother’s day gifts. Here are some ideas of baskets that we have made in the past:
This “basket” was made in a decorative storage box that could be reused and included specialty soaps, tea, teacup and saucer, pens, note cards, whipped sugar scrubs, and a necklace.
This basket has homemade soap and sugar scrubs, a tea/coffee cup, tea, a coordinating washcloth, facial products, homemade coffee truffles, and a homemade tote bag.
This smaller basket contains a washcloth, necklace, headband, hair accessories, candle, and skin care masque.
Any of the things in these baskets could be mixed and matched to create many more ideas and there are lots of other things that you could add as well! One of the nice things about gift baskets is that you can add many homemade things if you can sew, make candles or soap, etc. but if you are not able to make those things you can pick out many things that would be special to the person you’re making it for and it will still have that personal, homemade touch.
Some other ideas:
-Homemade bread or muffins, pretty kitchen hand towels, soap, and a candle for a housewarming gift.
-A small potted plant or flowers, coffee or tea, a pretty mug, and chocolates for a thank you gift, encouragement gift, or just to be a blessing to someone else and brighten their day.
Leaving a homemade gift basket with a handwritten note for someone is a special way that we can bless others and show them Jesus’ love by caring for them.
Great ideas! Thanks, Amanda! :)
