Better than Starbucks in cost and flavor!  :)

Serves 4

2 cups hot espresso or strong coffee

2 1/2 cups non-dairy flax milk plus 1/2 cup heavy cream or 3 cups whole milk

4 tbs. chocolate syrup

5 Tbs. peppermint syrup (recipe below)

4 Tbs. unsweetened cocoa powder

Whipped cream, crushed peppermints/candy canes, & chocolate syrup

Whisk the milk, syrups, and cocoa together in a saucepan over medium heat until steaming and hot.  Froth the milk mixture for several minutes with an immersion blender or milk frother. Divide the milk evenly between 4 large mugs and then pour in the coffee. Top with whipped cream and garnish with the crushed peppermints and chocolate syrup!

 

How to make Peppermint Syrup:

In a small saucepan mix together 1 cup sugar, 2 tsp. peppermint extract, and 1 cup water. Bring to a rolling boil and boil for 2 minutes. Let cool and store in a glass jar in the refrigerator.
