Is your soul troubled with something this Christmas season? Is there something that’s making you feel weary, or that seems impossible to overcome? Or even just a need…
Our soul needs can only be fully met in Jesus Christ. And He has wonderful gifts for those that follow Him: grace, mercy, consolation, the power to overcome sin. As it says in the passage from Isaiah (above) in some of the names of Jesus, we can see what His character is like. Whatever our needs are, He is powerful to meet them. Sometimes when we look at our problems, they look so big. But when we trust God, who is All-powerful, who is the same God that delivered Moses, David and the host of other heroes of the faith, and He hasn’t changed, our problems look smaller.
Jesus Christ is called Wonderful, Counselor – and can give direction and wisdom to every situation in our lives. The Mighty God – very strong and able to be a fortress, and protect, and overcome (humanly) unsurmountable obstacles in our lives. He is our provider.
He is The Everlasting Father, guiding and providing comfort for the lonely and fatherless. And Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace. He is the only way to God; the way, the truth, and the life. Only through Him can we be saved, and have peace with God.
“Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?” Jeremiah 32:27 There is not. Will you trust your need to Him?
