I made this for breakfast one morning not long ago and my Mama and sister who are both tea drinkers and like to try many different flavors of tea loved it! I don’t care for black tea and you can taste it in here so if you prefer coffee, it would probably be very good with brewed, chilled coffee instead of the tea. This recipe is based off of a coffee and biscotti milkshake recipe that we’ve had before and really liked but it wasn’t healthy – so this is a good alternative!
Ingredients:
– 4 cups flavored or vanilla non-dairy ice cream ( I used homemade fig ice cream made with coconut and flax milks from the recipe in Dairy Free Ice Cream by Kelly V. Brozyna)
– 1 cup milk of your choice (I used flax milk)
– 3/4 cup brewed and chilled black tea (flavored or unflavored)
– 10 chocolate chip biscotti cookies (6 to add to the milkshake, 4 for garnish) – I used homemade, grain-free biscotti
Blend the first three ingredients in a blender. Add the 6 biscottis and blend until there is no large chunks. Serve cold in four glasses garnished with the remaining biscotti. Great for breakfast or dessert!
